Welcome all,
Peter and I (of The Up-Turn) have taken the plunge and officially founded our own record label. We were spurred to start the label this winter by looming adulthood, the college application process, and a touch of health issues. Now, after many hours of arguing and deliberating over facebook chat about how to do this the right way, we are ready to launch. As of right now, Hanging Hills Records will be based off of Creative Commons, which means that yes, you won’t have to pay for any of our music yet, and no, we will not be making any money yet. So you can’t call us sellouts or executive pigs for at least a month or two.
We have some amazing plans that are better than we ever could have hoped for on the horizon, and we are incredibly thankful to be working with a bunch of incredibly talented, creative, and all around awesome people. We hope that Hanging Hills Records will be an outlet for us to help artists who we believe deserve attention and have a lot of talent get the recognition they deserve.
So now, I would like to ask you all to please join us on this journey. I’m not sure where we will be in a year; we may have some hick-ups and we may have some surprises that we couldn’t have hoped for. One thing we are sure of is that you will hear some awesome music along the way, and what more could you ask for?
